Cross the beautiful Mackinac Bridge and see Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
While there you can take the famous Agawa Canyon Train Tour,
in Sault Ste. Marie Canada, enjoy a Soo Locks Boat Tour,
and perhaps also visit both The Mystery Spot
and Look-Out Rock, both in St. Ignace. Kewadin Casino
is also located here, just 10 minutes from Mackinaw City.
Michigan's number 1 tourist attraction
is of course, Mackinac Island. Just a 15 minute ferry boat
ride will transport you and your family back 200 years into history.
Go another day trip by bicycle or horse through the Island's interior
and contemplate the mysteries of Skull Cave, the British Landing
and famous Arch Rock. Carriage Tours offer 2 or more hours of
relaxation as a way to visit these and other Island highlights
like the Wings of Mackinac Butterfly House. For the romantic of heart,
the Grand Hotel is a visiting must. Their exquisite gardens surround a
long, covered porch that welcomes you to the Hotel for lunch or tea.
This hotel was the one seen in the movie 'Somewhere in Time',
featuring Christopher Reeves. Each year, hundreds of couples make the
Mackinaw Area part of their wedding plans, either to be married here,
or part of their honeymoon trip.
